CONDITIONS

The Monte Carlo World Backgammon Championship is by invitation only. The  Tournament Chairman reserves the right,  without prejudice to refuse application to attend the tournament to anyone and/or to refuse access to the premises where the play is being held.

Minimum age requirement is 21.

All prizes will be given at the Awards Ceremony July 15th -9pm

REGISTRATION FEES

Player or Social Guest       FF.1.200

This fee includes the welcome Cocktail Party, Awards Ceremony & Cocktail Party and the Gala Dinner.

ENTRY FEES

Championship flight         FF. 5.000

Intermediate flight           FF. 2.000

Beginners flight               FF. 1.000

100% of all entry fees will be returned to the winners. The chairman or the director may refuse participation in the beginners or intermediate flights to players who are qualified to play in a higher division.

No personal checks will be accepted as payment of either registration or entry fees.

LOCATION

The World Championship is being held at the prestigious Monte Carlo Grand Hotel, formerly known as Loews Hotel. An upscale ***** Hotel, with Restaurants, Casino and beautiful roof top pool with a view over the magnificent Monte Carlo.

Access to the Tournament Rooms:

Strictly reserved to players and their guests. Children and pets are not allowed.
Proper dress (no shorts) is required;
failing this, access will be refused.

SOCIAL PROGRAM

Welcome Cocktail, Monday July 9 at 8pm, Salon Foyer of the Monte Carlo Grand Hotel.

Gala dinner, Wednesday July 11 at 8.30pm at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club (Black Tie).

Awards Ceremony and Cocktail party, Sunday July 15 at 9pm,  Salon Foyer of the Monte Carlo Grand Hotel.

SPORTS PROGRAM

Tennis Tournament, Monte Carlo Country Club: daily, Tuesday to Friday, 11am. Doubles only, players without partners will be paired.

Golf tournament, Monte Carlo Golf Club: Wednesday at 11am. Handicap card required.

Access to the above is free of charge to players in the Tournament exclusively.

JACKPOTS

Entry in the jackpots, the Super Jackpot and the Fortis World Team Championship is strictly limited to players registered in one of the three flights of the Monte Carlo World Backgammon Championship.

Mini Jackpots:

Nightly starting at 6pm except Monday at 9pm and Wednesday from noon to 7pm.

Super Jackpots

 Wednesday July 11 at 1pm in the tournament rooms.

Entry fee: US$ 1.500 or the equivalent in other currency.
